2022 Honda Civic 1.5 Turbo 11th Generation Launched In Singapore - From SGD122,999

After Indonesia, it's Singapore's turn to launch the 2022 11th generation Honda Civic Sedan. It retails from SGD122,999 (RM383k). The question is when is Malaysia's turn?

In case you’re a little rusty on the details, the all-new 2022 Honda Civic is 33 mm longer than its predecessor at 4,674 mm, with a wheelbase that’s extended by a substantial 36mm to 2,736 mm, surely resulting in a larger passenger cell overall with even more rear legroom. Indicating its underlying shared structure with the Civic FC here, its width at 1,801 mm and height at 1,415 mm is identical to the previous/outgoing version.

On the inside, the Singaporean 2022 Civic is identical to the Thai-spec EL+ Civic, featuring that lovely honeycomb mesh accent that runs the dashboard's width. Up top, the touchscreen infotainment system is offered in a 9-inch size and features Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto. The Singaporean 2022 Civic also receives 16-inch wheels featured on the EL+.

Down the centre, the centre console features a main cubby space with an integrated Qi-wireless charging port, and further back, the gear shifter and usual drivetrain controls are accompanied by two cupholders. 

Given that the Singapore Honda Civics are assembled in Thailand at the automaker's plant in Prachinburi, east of Bangkok, it's no surprise then that the 2022 Honda Civic offered in Singapore is the same as the EL+ variant in Thailand.

There will only be one variant offered by Honda Singapore, and it will be equipped with the 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged mill. 

Power is rated at 176 hp and 240 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT. The 2022 1.5 LX Civic also gets a drive mode selector (Normal, Sport, Eco). 

Will Malaysia also get only one variant of the 2022 Honda Civic? 

The Singaporean 2022 Civic also comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance systems. The standard-fit Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistance technologies uses a new single-camera system that provides a broader field of view than the previous radar-and-camera based system. Combined with software advances and a new, more powerful processor, the system can more quickly and accurately identify pedestrians, bicyclists, and other vehicles, along with road lines and road signs.

The Honda Sensing ADAS suite features the following safety features:

• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF)
• Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
• Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
• Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
• Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
• Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
• Auto High-Beam (AHB)

The 2022 Honda Civic will be offered in seven colors in Singapore, three of them new:

• Meteoroid Grey Metallic
• Ignite Red Metallic
• Morning Mist Blue
• Lunar Silver Metallic
• Crystal Black Pearl
• Platinum White Pearl
• Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic 

With car prices in Singapore varying wildly with the rest of the region, the 2022 Civic is not as affordable as it is in neighbouring regions, which is why the 2022 Honda Civic Sedan will set Singaporeans back a hefty SGD122,999

The 2022 Honda Civic Sedan is classed under COE CAT A in Singapore.
