2020 Hyundai KONA and 2020 Hyundai Sonata Launched In Malaysia

Together with a new tagline, 'Geared For Distinction', Hyundai Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) earlier today launched the 2020 Hyundai KONA and 2020 Hyundai Sonata.

Three variants of the 2020 Hyundai KONA are offered locally:

• RM115,888 for the 2.0 Nu MPI Standard
• RM130,888 for the 2.0 Nu MPI Active 
• RM143,888 for the 1.6 Turbo

(OTR including SST discount but excluding insurance)

Prices post-SST-discount will be as follows for the KONA:

• RM123,888 for the 2.0 Nu MPI Standard
• RM138,888 for the 2.0 Nu MPI Active 
• RM151,888 for the 1.6 Turbo

The Sonata on the other hand will only come in one variant, the G2.5 Smartstream priced at 206,888 however there is an early bird discount on offer for the first 50 customers at RM189,888 (OTR excluding insurance).

Both vehicles will come with a 5-year or 300,000km warranty (whichever comes first). Both vehicles are also currently available for viewing at all Hyundai showrooms nationwide. 

According to Managing Director of HSDM, Low Yuan Lung, " We have received an overwhelming response for the new Kona during the pre-launch booking phase. As a result of the positive response, we are happy to announce that we will continue to market the Kona here. Customers can thus expect the next generation of Kona to be introduced here as well,”.

Low went on to add that the Sonata, "...is built on an entirely new platform that emphasises design, safety, efficiency, power and driving performance. With it, there is a marked weight reduction and
improved fuel efficiency while achieving better durability. It also builds on the original platform’s core strengths, enabling a more stable design with a lower centre of gravity,”

With the launch of these two new vehicles, HSDM is also promising a rejuvenated experience and a new definition of luxury. Lofty goals surely, we wait to see if it holds true!
