2019 Toyota Corolla Officially Launched – From RM 128,888

After a month or so of teasing, UMW Toyota has finally officially launched the all-new Toyota Corolla in Malaysia. The model is available in two variants – the 1.8E and the 1.8G – which are priced at RM 128,888 and RM 136,888 respectively, on-the-road without insurance.

As we mentioned in previous articles, this all-new model sits on the critically-acclaimed TNGA platform which first made its way to our market underpinning the C-HR, and eventually the Camry as well. The platform promises better ride comfort and handling, which you can read about in our quick review soon.

Overall, the car is 10 mm longer, 5 mm wider, and 45 mm lower, while maintaining the same wheelbase at 2700 mm as the previous model. While not being the outright largest in the segment, it also isn't the smallest either and there's a reasonable amount of space for all occupants.

Compared the previous generation, there is only one engine carried over – a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre inline-four engine that produces 139 PS and 173 Nm of torque – which is paired with a slightly revised CVT-type automatic transmission.
