2017 Toyota Prius C Minor Change Introduced, Crossover Variant Now Available
Berita KeretaToyota just released the updated Prius C in Japan with revised exterior and a crossover variant. The Toyota Prius C is known as the Toyota Aqua in Japan.
For the facelift, Toyota gave the Prius C new headlights and a new front bumper with Toyota's latest design language incorporating a large black centre piece. Moving to the rear end, tail light design is also new. Alongside the new tail light design, Toyota has moved the position of the rear reflector to the bottom of the bumper.
As for the interior, a new TFT LCD multi info dfisplay is standard for all variants, except the Prius C in L trim. Seat upholstery is also new, as Toyota has stated that the Prius C now gets soft white leather.
In terms of ride and handling, Toyota has increased the body rigidity and increased the tyre size from 175/65R15 to 185/60R15, improving the car's steering stability and ride comfort.
Last but not least, Toyota has introduced a new Crossover grade for the Prius C. Here, the Crossover variant of the Prius C receives more rugged-looking front and rea bumpers, roof and fender molding and16-inch alloy wheels. Toyota added that the Prius C Crossover also benefits from a different suspension tuning from the regular Prius C, improving steering feedback and ride comfort.
According to Toyota, the base Prius C L is able to return 38 km/L under the JC08 test cycle, while upper grades of the Prius C is able to return up to 34.4 km/L. Powertrain remains identical, with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive 1.5-litre 1NZ-FXE petrol engine being the sole engine choice. Drive is sent to the front wheels via an electric continuously variable transmission (eCVT).
Prices start from JPY 1,785,240 for the base Toyota Prius C. The Crossover variant will set buyers back for JPY 2,062,800.
