These items complement existing safety features consisting of ABS, EBD, Reverse Sensors, ISOFIX and dual frontal airbags. The range-topping Adventure and Adventure X models additionally get side, curtain, and driver knee airbags – bringing the total airbag count to seven.

Other updates focus on interior features. All variants get a redesigned instrument cluster; the 2.5 4x4 Std and Quest 4x2 variants see their single DIN audio head unit enlarged to double DIN. All MIVEC VGT variants get the all-new Pajero Sport’s four-spoke steering to replace the previous three-spoke wheel. Lastly, the Adventure and Adventure X models get 8-way electric driver seat adjustment.

Launched locally in 2015, the current-generation Triton was updated last year with Mitsubishi’s latest generation 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel with 181PS and 430Nm paired with either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission.

The lower-end 2.5 Std and Quest 4x2 variants continue with the previous model’s 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine. Outputs are rated at 110PS/200Nm for the Quest 4x2 model and 136PS/320Nm for the 2.5 Std. Both these variants are fitted with a 5-speed manual transmission.
