2017 Honda Odyssey Facelift Launched In Indonesia

PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has launched the newly-facelifted 2017 Honda Odyssey for the Indonesian market. The same event also saw the facelifted 2017 Honda City launched at the same time.

This updated version of the fifth-generation Odyssey, originally launched in 2014, is a different vehicle from the American-market 2017 Odyssey that was shown at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year.

Revisions are largely limited to external aesthetics, however, as Honda has opted to carry on with much of the outgoing model’s existing array of features. Distinguishing features include a new black front grille, black fog light garnish, and redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels.

These new items complement existing features that include self-leveling automatic projector headlamps; LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, and LED third brake light

Inside, the Odyssey’s driver gets 8-way powered seat adjustment with memory together with the following features built into the steering wheel tilt & telescopic adjustment, paddle shifters, and integrated controls for audio and auto cruise.

Infotainment is operated through a 7-inch touchscreen and in it are functions that include GPS navigation and multi-view camera assist. A powered sunroof with anti-pinch lets in some light and climate control is triple zone.

Access to the rear is provided by powered sliding doors with courtesy light. Once inside, middle row occupants can perch themselves in a pair of individual captain’s chairs with manual Ottoman function.

Completing the equipment manifest, the 2017 Odyssey is equipped with a comprehensive array of active and passive safety features as follows:

  • Cross traffic monitor
  • 6 airbags
  • ABS, EBD, Brake Assist
  • ISOFIX
  • Pedestrian protection
  • Electronic stability control (VSA)
  • Hill start assist
  • Emergency stop signal

Powering the Odyssey is Honda’s 2.4-litre Earth Dreams engine with outputs of 175PS and 226Nm. Shared with the Accord, the four-cylinder twin-cam i-VTEC petrol engine is paired here with Honda’s in-house Earth Dreams CVT to send power to the front wheels.

According to our Indonesia-based colleagues from Otospirit.com and Mobil123.com (who also provided the on-ground photos accompanying this article), the new 2017 Honda Odyssey is priced at IDR 718 million on-the-road in Jakarta, converting to about RM306k at the present exchange rate of IDR 3,002 to RM1. In Malaysia, the Odyssey is priced at RM255,500 on-the-road with insurance for its sole 2.4 EXV variant.
