2017 Ford Ranger FX4 Goes Official, Priced From RM121,888

Ford Malaysia has officiated the new Ford Ranger FX4, now with some exclusive interior and exterior enhancements.

Up front, the 2017 Ford Ranger FX4 receives an exclusive new grille with revised mesh pattern. There is also the new matte decal that goes across the bonnet. Towards the bottom of the front bumper, the Ranger FX4 is distinguished by its blacked out fog light surrounds. 

The matte decal continues to the sides, with its FX4 wording separating itself from the regular Ranger variant. The 18-inch wheels finished in Stark Grey and black sports bar adds to the Ranger FX4's appeal as well. The exterior design is completed by a blacked-out decal with the Ranger word in negative space.

As for the Ford Ranger FX4's interior, the new model is adorned with darker finishes and leather upholstery unique to the Ranger FX4. Other Ford Ranger features, like Ford SYNC in-car connectivity system are also present here, on top of the driver assistance technologies like reverse sensors with reverse camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel and manual air-conditioning.

Under the bonnet is the same 2.2-litre Duratorq turbodiesel that delivers 158 hp and 385 Nm, mated to a six-speed automatic. Sime Darby Auto Connexion says that the Ford Ranger FX4 can be had in either Aluminum Metallic or Meteor Grey. Priced at RM121,888 excluding insurance, the Ford Ranger FX4 costs roughly RM15,000 more than the regular Ranger 2.2 XLT.
