2015 F16 BMW X6 Launched In Malaysia, xDrive35i M Sport From RM719k

BMW Group Malaysia has officially launched the all-new 2015 BMW X6 (F16) crossover SUV in Malaysia, at the on-going BMW World Malaysia 2015 exhibition.

Buyer’s Guide:

The second generation of the BMW X6 replaces the preceding E71 LCI model and features more equipment as standard along with new exterior styling. The BMW X6 xDrive35i M Sport is priced at RM718,800 (on-the-road inclusive of GST but without insurance).

Performance:

Under the hood, a BMW 3.0-litre TwinPower turbocharged straight-six is found, producing 306hp from 5,800 to 6,400 rpm while maximum torque output is 400Nm from 1,200 to 5,000 rpm. The engine is paired to an eight-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission and power is sent to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive permanent all-wheel drive system with full variable torque split between the front and rear axles.

0-100 km/h is dealt with in just 6.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 240 km/h. Meanwhile, fuel consumption is rated at 8.6 litres per 100 km (11.63 km per litre) and CO2 emissions is 200 grams per kilometre.

Exterior Styling:

From the outside, the all-new X6 retains its familiar shape and profile but gains a new front fascia with adaptive LED headlights and LED fog lamps. A more pronounced rear end can also be seen. If anything, it is more of an evolution of design rather than a total makeover.

The M Sport package includes a M Aerodynamics package which gives the X6 a sportier look by fitting a body kit. 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 275/40 series tyres at the front and 315/35 series tyres at the rear are also part of the package. Adaptive M suspension with rear air suspension are also fitted.

Interior Styling:

Inside, the cabin also sees very little change and is distinctively BMW with Dakota leather upholstery. An M Sport leather steering wheel with paddle shifters and on-wheel buttons are also found as part of the M Sport package.

Four-zone automatic climate control comes as standard including an electrical glass roof and powered seats at the front (driver’s side gets a memory function)

Infotainment and navigation is handled by a 10.25-inch Navigation system Professional multimedia unit with numerous inputs and connects to an iDrive Touch Controller. A Harman Kardon 600W, 16-speaker surround sound system handles audio playback.

Other Features:

Driving aids include a heads-up display for the driver as well as cruise control with brake function, Park Distance Control (PDC) at the front and rear, surround view camera including rear view camera, and High-beam Assistance.

Other convenient features include automatic operation of the tailgate, keyless entry with start/stop button, and automatic lights and wipers.

Safety Features:

The BMW X6 is packed with safety features beginning with six airbags (front, side, head) and BMW’s suite of safety systems – Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), anti-lock brakes (ABS), Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). ISOFIX child seat anchors are also located at the rear.
